Salmon, Sea Trout, Char, Brown Trout (by boat). Fishery open 1 April to 30 September. Catch & Release for Salmon and any Sea Trout of 40cm or over.
Access requirements: Government angling licence (includes log book and tags) + fishery permit. 24 hours notice is required to book fishing to enable preparation of boats.
Lough Eske is a 900-acre lake set against the beautiful backdrop of the Blue Stack Mountains. The Eske fishery is noted for its salmon, sea trout and char, fishing and it is also a productive brown trout fishery.
Sea trout angling is at its best from late July onwards and continues to the end of the season. The sea trout average ¾lb and can be as heavy as 5lbs. The brown trout average ½lb but trout up to 4½lbs weight are regularly taken on the fly with the record for the lough being 9lb 2oz.
Boat angling only is permitted on the lough. Five boats are available for hire with max two anglers allowed per boat. All anglers must wear a flotation device. Anglers are not permitted to launch their own boats.
Season: The fishing season on the Eske opens on 1 April and runs until 30 September.
